On 2 May, 2017, V Jeyaraj, Director, Hepzibah Institute of Heritage Conservation, Chennai, gave an in-depth introduction to the science of conservation of artefacts from our past. In his talk, he emphasised the importance of this activity, given the richness of our culture heritage. He also discussed the many different kinds of artefacts that museums and archives deal with, ranging from palm-leaf manuscripts to bronze statues, and how they could be preserved for posterity.
